Household Emergency Plan Launched

Emergencies happen every day in the UK and across the world. They can be caused by severe weather or other natural hazards, by deliberate actions, or as a result of accidents or infrastructure failure. They can be events that happen quickly and are over in a few hours, or they can develop and continue over the course of several days, months, or sometimes even longer.

As part of its work on putting in place an emergency plan for the village, the Parish Council has, using a national template, produced the attached Household Emergency Plan. This intended to help residents ensure that they have readily to hand all the information they may need if they have an emergency or are asked to evacuate their house. This could be kept  with other important documents such as passports, birth certificates and insurance policies so it’s easier to gather them quickly.

The Plan includes details of:

The Designated Meeting Points for the Village:  The Village Hall and St Margaret's Church

The Parish Council Emergency Leads and their phone numbers: Councillors Higham and Sayers

The "Others you might want to check on" section of the plan reflects the strong tradition of residents in the village looking out for one another.

The Council hopes that residents  will find the Plan helpful in ensuring that their household is prepared for any emergency, should one arise.

The plan is available on the Parish Council Policies and Procedures page of this website or by contacting the Parish Clerk using the following email address:
